Travis Scott is known to explore creative boundaries in both his music and brand marketing. Scott’s collaboration with Fortnite (EpicGames) – The “Astronomical” concert was a groundbreaking event that mixed gaming, music, events, and fashion, creating the ultimate hybrid experience. The Travis Scott X Fortnite digital concert has quickly gained traction from both the gaming and hip hop world. It has attracted over 12 million viewers while livestreaming. ⠀
Although it was in a game, if you have nice speakers or headphones then it was still quite enjoyable – there is no grass making your clothes filthy; it can do pretty much anything you want in the meanwhile because you are at home; and you may play the Fortnite original game while at it. The in-game Scott was rendered to be a lot larger than regular player avatars. While performing a live concert of some of his new songs, to entertain your visual sensors further, the game’s colourful backdrop and its surroundings also constantly changed and morphed into hyperrealistic worlds.
Along with the event, Scott has also released virtual skins and real-life merchandise using the signature designs of Scott’s record brand Cactus Jack. The real-life collection released futuristic style short-sleeved t-shirts, hats, action figures and a Nerf blaster which also echos some of the tattoos/designs seen in virtual skins.⠀
