    BFC Has Announced Dates For its Digital-First London Fashion Week

    The British Fashion Council will launch its digital-first fashion shows this month. Fans can expect to see collections from Qasimi, Bethany Williams, Nicholas Daley, and Robyn Lynch.

    If you have been looking forward to the London Fashion Week, the wait is over. BFC’s digital-first event, presented by Clearpay, is starting this month, showcasing womenswear and menswear collections. The show will be broadcasted on the London Fashion Week’s website with several Covid-secure physical activations in check with government regulations regarding the safety measures. The event will mark the cultural reopening of the city with both digital and physical activations.

    The provisional line-up for the digital-first show includes Ahluwalia, av vattev, Bethany Williams, Dilara Findikoglu Ltd, JordanLuca, Liam Hodges, Lyph, Marques’ Almeida, Nicholas Daley, Olubiyi Thomas, Per Götesson, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Pronounce, Qasimi, Robyn Lynch, Staxx, Teija, University of Westminster, DiscoveryLab in collaboration with Toni&Guy featuring Abigail Ajobi, Auroboros, Azura Lovisa, Béhen, Chloe Baines, Djokic, Maxime, Mayyaagayeva, Noirgaze, Paolo Carzana, and Shek Leung.
    The provisional schedule has yet to be announced.

    According to BFC, the London Fashion Week would honor the three pillars of The Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF): people and community, environment, and craftsmanship. The official suppliers for the event include Fashion &Beauty, Fara, Getty Images, Monitor, JOOR, and the May Fair Hotel. And the official supporters for the event include the Department of International Trade, the Mayor of London, and the European Regional Development Fund.

    The official partners are Clearpay (as a principal partner), Evening Standard, FASHION ZOO, TONI&GUY, VANISH, and jd.com.

    LFW digital platform was launched in June 2020 and aims to be a year-round event for designers and consumers to showcase and buy new collections. According to the company’s website, the platform will remain accessible to industry professionals and fashion consumers to foster a collaboration that would contribute to culture, fashion, and technology.

    Due to the pandemic, there has been a lot of uncertainty around fashion shows. London Fashion Week is one of the only fashion shows to provide dates for its shows. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and Milan’s fashion week will too open this month as physical fashion shows and digital presentations. It seems that fashion shows are finally going back to normal.
